The Story Of Our Business
We've been cleaning windows, gutters and solar panels since 2022. The growth of our business has been surprising even to us. We've been so grateful to service different types of clients and homes all throughout the Bay Area. Many of the homeowners has been beyond pleased with our work and are always willing to support our business in different ways. One of the most common ways is referring our business to their friends and family or leaving a review on many of our business profile platforms.
The Beginning Of Our Business (2022)
During this time, we were on summer break going into Junior year. We got our licenses and needed a way to fund our gas money and food bills. We decided to start a window cleaning business going door-to-door in our area to get a couple of window cleaning jobs a week. As time went on, we started getting on platforms like Nextdoor to spread the word digitally.
After some time of generating reviews on Nextdoor, we were able to get 90% of our clients through that platform. This is when things started to pick up, we reinvested in some better equipment, a better truck, a ladder rack and started bidding on large jobs.
The Off Season During School (2023)
Going into Junior year, things started to slow down as we focused our attention to good grades instead of making money. After all, we saved our money during the first year and wanted to spend some of it.
When the window cleaning season started to slow down, Grayson and his partner Lucas decided to start a detailing business. Many of the intital things we learned about running a business were made from detailing. We built a website, starting running Google Ads and collecting reviews. We got a taste of the value of digital marketing.
When school started to come to an end, we decided to jump back into window cleaning because we saw an opportunity to transfer the skills from detailing back into window cleaning. Window cleaning is a much higher paying service so we thought it would be more profitable to service the expensive homes in our area as opposed to the cars.
It was slow in the beginning, but we brought back our Nextdoor profile and started getting a couple of calls. We created a website and started optimizing it for SEO. It looked nothing like the website today because we've redesigned it 3 times!
The Summer Season (2024)
When the summer finally came around, the amount of work we were doing on a daily basis was insane. We would start work at 9:00am and end at 8:00pm almost every day. Around this time, we saw the business as an actual business and decided to get it registered and insurance.
During this time, we started to hire many of our friends to come and work for us. It felt good being able to turn it into an entity that our friend group could help build and grow. I think that is why we are respected and our reputation is positive.
Going Into A Full Year Of Business (2025)
Since the summer season, we've been trying out different marketing methods to keep the business during the slower season like Fall & Winter. These tactics have kept our business running and our people paid. We are extremely excited to bring these other marketing systems into the Spring & Summer for the first time.
We plan to upgrade to 2 full trucks. We also want to create larger departments with individual employees and trucks to run different services. We are thinking about pressure washing trucks, window cleaning trucks and solar panel cleaning trucks. Additionally, we want to start bidding on commercial properties to grow and expand our business into something larger.
